This year, we center our theme on **The Human Dimensions of Mathematics.** While this is definitively an event about the teaching and learning of mathematics, our intent is to ensure that we maintain our focus on the people in our classrooms and those who interact with it.
Friday’s Speaker is former NCTM President, Matt Larson, who guides us in “Overcoming Obstacles to Make Mathematics Work FOR Students.”
Leslie Hamburger, co-director of WestEd’s Quality Teaching for English Learners (QTEL), keynotes our event on Saturday. A range of speakers will open up their practice, share their wisdom as well as their challenges, and share the best of their efforts to create the type of inclusive, affirming classroom that builds connections between students and teachers, students and students, and people and mathematics. Come learn with Dr. Jeanie Behrend, Ed Campos, Duane Habecker, Nancy Nagatani, LaMar Queen, Hilda Wright, and many more…
